Goals & Objectives

  • To be a positive and solution-oriented group, serving as a resource to families of children with special needs from preschool through high school. 

  • To educate parents and the broader community on Special Education issues and services, including the identification and placement procedures for children with special needs as well as to work closely with teacher and the School District.

  • To enrich the lives of children and their families by providing educational and social opportunities. We celebrate individuality and the unique abilities of all children.

  • To ensure that all children receive an education that allows them to reach their full potential.

  • To bring together parents, families and teachers of children with diverse needs in order to share their experiences in a positive a collaborative environment.

  • To inform legislators, school boards, and the community about the importance of special education programs.

  • To improve the lives of children by providing cultural, social and physical enrichment, providing support, information and encouragement in order to ensure that the educational, social and emotional needs of our students are met. 

  • To advocate for children with diverse needs and their right to a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.

We propose to do this by:

  • Increasing parent and community awareness of special education through a series of educational programs 

  • Promoting increased communication between parents, community and professionals 

  • Searching for the most interesting and useful resources available 

  • Providing timely and relevant links to informative web sites through our web site
